One of the only good places to eat in Junction City. Authentic (not really cheesy, American-ized Mexican food), and you can't get a fish-bowl margarita, but tasty, fresh, and satisfying!

Perhaps it is because I am from California. I wasn't terribly impressed with this place. It IS decent but just not out of this world amazing... I know Junction City doesn't have many options and so I am sure it fills a need there and if I lived there I am sure I would visit. We tried this location, however, based on an advertisement and coupon we purchased (like a Groupon type thing) and drove over from Eugene. I am used to Taco Shop type places having numerous options. Honestly this one has a very limited amount of food options, HOWEVER they do have the basics. Tacos, burritos, nachos etc. I didn't find the same problems as others did with menu items being out as they had everything listed (although a very limited menu). We were told that the smothered burrito was not hot and that neither the red nor green sauces were hot. The owner (EXTREMELY nice and the main reason that they received three stars) told us that neither was an enchilada sauce but neither was hot... I LOVE hot food but my mom ordered one since it was not going to be hot and she wanted it smothered. Let me tell you the verde/green sauce was HOT and it grew hotter and hotter. Definitely get sour cream with this. My dad had the enchiladas. The plate wasn't huge but it was enough for a meal without leftovers. His plate was empty so it couldn't have been too bad. I got the carne asada nachos (large and it was a good portion) -- honestly they were very good. Overall I felt the pricing was a bit high (again I am from San Diego so the taco shops here are some of the most affordable food in town). The restroom was EXTREMELY clean and obviously well maintained. The "owners" (I think) were extremely nice and it is obviously a family operation (as most taco shops are). The kitchen is pretty large so maybe one day they will expand their selection. I liked this location -- just be careful of the sauce "heat" if you don't like hot food. The menu is limited so only want the basics when visiting and you will be fine.

I love this place. I've tried the "other" Mexican place in town and it makes me appreciate Moctezuma even more. This place is more or less authentic Mexican. At least as close as you'll find around here. If you want fancy, this isn't your place. But if you just want great food, this is it! Getting food here is less like a meal for me and more like a "FIX". Need my wet super burrito!!! So good. And they provide extra sauce in a squirt bottle to add even more zing.

So apparently you cannot get chips here. Even if you order a taco salad (which they don't have so they give you a nacho with lettuce.) I asked to get some chips and the guy who runs the place says no. What's up With that? We come here to eat all the time and you cannot give any chips out? Even tho technically I ordered a nachos with lettuce? My co-workers and I come here all the time and I've pretty much had it with these control freaks. We will not be coming here anymore. Deuces!

The food is fabulous and I can't believe how little dinner for the whole family cost. New favorite place!!

Every time we go they are out of something or not offering full menu. It's odd and frustrating. But we have limited options for dining out here. It is what it is.

Pretty decent authentic Mexican food but not as good as a few other favorites of mine, Not many items on their menu and only have chicken for a selection of meat when I ordered enchiladas, not sure if it's not offered or if they were out of beef.. I would try this place again if I'm passing thru. A companion with me had a burrito which was huge and he really enjoyed it. Order at the counter but the food is served to the table.

Great place to go for a quick, authentic Mexican meal. Their enchilada sauce is great!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
